Social Media Site: Design Bump

Design Bump

Design Bump is a new social media site specifically for design related subjects, like Design Float. And it works in the same way: you can submit links to the “upcoming” section where it can be voted on by other members. If it gets enough positive votes, the link will be sent to the homepage with other popular links and archived as such.

My first impressions of Design Bump were decent. They’ve gone for a vintage-like theme with a nice, clean layout. The categories are very well organized and slightly broader than Design Float’s. Design Bump’s favicon is somewhat generic but maybe the coloring is unique enough to make a voting button/widget out of it later (there are none currently).

No word on the member count, but there are several active members already (I’m one of them). Obviously it can’t bring much traffic to your site this early on, but earlier today I submitted a few of my articles for a test run and so far I’ve received about 20 visits from there.

It looks like Design Bump has started on the right foot and I predict it’ll go far. It already earned it’s way into my bookmarks. So go ahead and register at Design Bump and see for yourselves. Let me know what you think in the comments.
