Random Doodle #5
I dug this up out of my junk drawer. It’s just another doodle created on the lined pages of my geography notebook. Weaved thorny vines. Looks like a tattoo design. There are lots of little stray lines and other mistakes, but all I used was pen, so I don’t feel too bad. I rarely use pencil at school so that’s all I had. Let me know what you think.

Looks good. Do you keep a lot of your doodles? I tend to throw all mine away for some reason. If so, I think it would be interesting to do a post that shows a collections of your doodles.

Hey Alec, I think you’re sitting on quite a deposit of potential vectors you could throw up as freebees on all those free vector sites, with your logo and URL on them of course, and maybe bring in some new visitors. Just a thought.
John, actually since I do most of my doodling at school on the side of assignments, I turn them into my teachers and never see them again. Most of the ones I do keep get lost or something. Once in a while I’ll post doodles I find or ones I just recently drew.
Bryan, that’s definitely something to consider. My blog has been slipping slightly out of my focus recently (hence my lack of posts), but maybe I’ll do that sometime in the future. I really haven’t done much marketing up until now besides a few submissions to Design Float/Bump. Thanks for the suggestion.
At first I thought “tattoo”, too - but on second thought it with a single tone filling + a bit of grunginess it would make for a GREAT t-shirt design.
I’m totally with Bryan - both because of the marketing advantages and the fact that I’d love to see your creations turned into vector graphics. ;)
(And I’d wish I could get rid of my doodles, too - I tend to only doodle on sheets I can actually keep, and no matter how bad the result is, I just can’t get myself to throw it away. I’m literally drowning in useless sheets of paper all over my home… T_T XD)
Looks great! You’re good, very good!
Ben, that could be a t-shirt design. I’m thinking the vines a dark color on a grungy white shirt. That’s good you’re doodling. You should gather them all up and put them in a folder or something.
Daniel, thanks a lot for your comment.
would be a good tatoo but if it were to be printed on my b ody id want it to be symmetrical. (Im just anal like that)
Same here, Fred. Thanks for commenting.
This is awesome, this is just like the tattoo design I envisioned for my lower back, i’m going to use this as the basis of my design im just going to modify it with a symbol in the centre, maybe you could help me with this as im hopeless at drawing, this is really great!
If you’d like to help me with this let me know and i’ll email you with pictures..
Kate, I sent you an email. :)
May I incorporate this idea into some graphics I’m making? I’d like to be able to make some banners, not-for profit, for my own use, and this is precisely the kind of thing I’d like for it.
Alyse, yes go ahead.
