10 Great Ambigram Logos
One of my favorite types of logos is the ambigram. According to Wikipedia, an ambigram is “a graphical figure that spells out a word not only in its form as presented, but also in another direction or orientation.” The most common type is rotational. That is when it spells the word also when rotated (commonly 180°). Some words are naturally ambigrams, but I have a lot of respect for designers who force a word to become one. Here are 10 great examples of rotational ambigrams:
Edge - Raja Sandhu
Aerosmith - John Langdon
D.H. James - Nido
All City - AusScreen
Hapy - Raja Sandhu
Dip - Hayes Image
Ann - OcularInk
Jaier - pkadam

Vava - Raja Sandhu
Axis - TernaciousT
All designs are copyright their respective owners.

Hi Alec,
this is a good compilation. Could you shed some light on some designs/logos: what do they read?
The 4th, 5th & 6th one is a bit difficult to read, at least to us..
Including the designers’ names would be nice, too..?
we design ambigrams.

nagfa, I just edited in the logo title and the designer. Both the logo and the designers’ names link to their website or portfolio. Thanks for your comment.
Hi Alec,
I arrived here via Design Bump, and enjoyed your logo showcase. Cheers buddy.
Thanks, David.
Nagfa, if you turn all these logos upside down, they read the same - cool!
Giles, yes, they’re very impressive. Thanks for your comment.

Evren, I don’t understand what you mean.

Hey Alec,
Nice site - some great designs here (ya gotta love John Langdon). I noticed you took my file from LogoPond. This link will lead you to a cleaner version if you want it:

Thanks a lot, Katsie. Just updated it.
You did a great job on that design. I recently finished an ambigram of my name and I know it’s not easy. Thank you for the comment.
